Carleton Watkins
is today seen as one of the West's greatest photographers.  He is to the California West that Wm. Henry Jackson
is to the Rockies. Watkins is best known for his mammoth plate photographs but actually published the majority of his work as stereoviews.

This a grouping of ten (of which collection the two above are included) original 19th century Watkins stereoviews that offers some of the
earliest photographs in existence of Yosemite Valley
and San Francisco and environs.
